||
Country of Origin: China Region: Zhejiang Province Grade: Lung Ching Grade 2 Altitude: 2500 feet above sea level Manuf. Type: Steamed green tea and a special 10 part handmade process Infusion: Bright and green Ingredients: Luxury organic green tea Character: Full bodied tending astringent (brisk) with a slight heady bouquet. Full green tea flavor. Contains ultra-high antioxidant level of 14.50% vs 5-6% for mass-market teas. Lung Ching Tea - also known as Dragonwell is produced by hand through a 10-part process. The side of West Lake in Zhejiang Province grows the tea used to produce Dragonwell. Dragonwell is distinguished by its beautiful shape, emerald colour, scented smell and tending sweet floral character. The tea leaves that become Dragonwell (a.k.a. Lung Ching) are plucked before the Clear Light Festival or at the least before the spring rains have fallen. The choicest come from a part of the mountain called Lion’s Peak, where plucking takes place before each tender shoot has more than one leaf. Organic tea is produced without the input of chemical fertilizers or pesticides and herbicides. Certified Organic by QMI Organic Inc. Certificate #: 150 - 2008. USDA Certified Organic. Hot Tea: This tea is best enjoyed by pouring 180F/90C water over the leaves (1 teaspoon per cup) for 3 minutes (longer=stronger). Don't remove the leaves. Can be infused repeatedly 2-3 times using higher temperatures & shorter infusions until flavor is exhausted. Iced Tea: Pour 1 1/4 cups of hot water over 6 teaspoons of tea and steep for 5 minutes. Pour into pitcher while straining leaves, add ice and top up with cold water to make a quart of iced tea. Garnish and sweeten to taste. |
