BUY IT HERE!
One of our finest Japanese sencha green teas, it is produced from shaded young buds, giving it a sweeter taste. It is extra steamed for a more full-bodied flavor and pan fired to provide a richer aroma.

Organic Green Tea:
A healthy choice. It takes 3 years before an estate gets European Association certification. Organic growing drops yields but estates are compensated by higher prices.
IMPORTANT: Some of our premium organic teas are now sold in quantities of 2 oz. to make them more affordable. 2 oz. (60g) of loose tea makes approximately 15 cups; 3.5 oz. (100g) makes 25 cups. However, premium tea can be infused 2-3 times, so each 2 oz. (60g) portion actually makes 30-45 cups and each 3.5 oz. (100g) portion actually makes 50-75 cups.

The flavor of Genmaicha is light, with mild nutty overtones. Our organic Genmaicha is a steamed Sencha blended with roasted rice kernels making the tea look as though it has been mixed with popcorn. The tea should be brewed at a slightly higher temperature than most green teas in order to bring out this wonderfully mild flavor. Genmaicha is an excellent palate cleanser and is perfect for drinking with Asian-themed meals. This quality has made it one of the most popular teas in Japan. Although the version we offer here is actually grown in China, it is produced to exacting Japanese standards. As well it is grown organically; no pesticides or chemical fertilizers were used in its production.

Hot Tea: This tea is best enjoyed by pouring 190F/90C water over the leaves (1-1 1/5 tsp per cup) for 3 minutes (longer=stronger).
